I would stay here! It looks like it would be a bit similar to sleeping in a sleeper compartment on a long-distance train, which I love. But with no moving view, sadly. Still, it seems like a great alternative to setting the alarm for 3 am to get to the airport on time.

Hi Rachel. Thx for this post. I've been to Schiphol Airport and loved it. Have never stayed in a capsule hotel, but your description was certainly reminding me of a cheap cabin on a cruise ship, where the bathrooms are so tiny you can barely turn around! I would definitely NOT like staying in a place with no outdoor windows, but as you say, it would be really handy for a red-eye flight where you do not have checked baggage. Cheers!

I hope I never have to stay in a capsule hotel, however, it might be interesting to experience it once in a situation like yours. The Yotel sounds like when time is scare it beats sleeping in an airport chair or transferring via shuttle to an airport hotel.

I've stayed at the Citizen M at Schiphol. Big beds, big windows, but without much of a view. They've gone for a space-age look as well, with cylindrical showers and toilets, which is a bit weird. At least at Citizen M there's common space -- a lobby -- as well!

I've always wanted to know what this hotel was like. I think I'd get claustrophobic. While the YOTEL has windows, I really like windows looking outside. I will be staying at a Nomad at Charles de Gaulle airport in June and it's like a Citizen M, so it will be interesting to see how it compares. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Somehow it didn't feel too claustrophobic to me. I think it was because of the mirrors.
