In reply to Linda Williams. How do you know how many packages to do? I never know how many there will be. And I assume the candy you put in is all individually wrapped?

I’d been doing the small gift thing for team members at Universal Studios Orlando for a couple years, but recently did this for a flight from NC to FL. This type of thing always brings me so much joy! For the flight, I made up little zip pouches with gum, chocolate, non-chocolate candy (my mom is allergic, so I wanted to make sure anyone that may be allergic would have something sweet as well), some healing hand/skin balm, OLLY stress gummies, and a little thank you card. The card had my seat number on it. Most, if not all, of the crew made a point to come back and thank me. I work in a somewhat thankless field and know how much a simple thank you or kind gesture can mean.

As a flight attendant of a major US airline, I absolutely appreciate any gift no matter how small. It really does make a difference! I know you’ve brightened a lot of crew’s day with your thoughtful gesture! Keep it up, and thank you! 🙂

I have also given gifts the past few years. Two years ago it was around Halloween so I simply said “Trick or Treat”when I handed a bag of mini chocolate bars to the crew. I have also handed to attendants that were serving my section mini Burt’s Bees hand lotion and lip balm. They were so surprised and pleased. I have not had any special favors but feeling good myself and hoping to make the day better for them.

I once read about the cabin crew appreciating chocolate from your home country so I did it several times ever since.
As I am always flying Business or First Class the CC knows it comes from the heart and I am not some jerk who does this cheap trick to get an upgrade.

I have been treated very well on all my flights and since I usually don´t eat on a flight (what goes in most come out and I hate the plane lavatories except for the ones on the A380 of SQ) sometimes the FA made me at least eat something they made just for me.

So if you continue just do it to make the CC smile and not to expect an upgrade!!!

Since having my daughter we’ve done the same! Bring a snack for the flight attendants. Sometimes I want to get fun with the gift but never know which route to go so I stick to a chocolate snack.
Reactions are sweet, I have never noticed if anyone else says anything.
