Two years ago it was around Halloween so I simply said “Trick or Treat”when I handed a bag of mini chocolate bars to the crew. I have also handed to attendants that were serving my section mini Burt’s Bees hand lotion and lip balm. They were so surprised and pleased. I have not had any special favors but feeling good myself and hoping to make the day better for them.

As I am always flying Business or First Class the CC knows it comes from the heart and I am not some jerk who does this cheap trick to get an upgrade.

I have been treated very well on all my flights and since I usually don´t eat on a flight (what goes in most come out and I hate the plane lavatories except for the ones on the A380 of SQ) sometimes the FA made me at least eat something they made just for me.

So if you continue just do it to make the CC smile and not to expect an upgrade!!!

Judging by the reactions I get from the flight attendants, it’s not that common. Though that might change gradually since this is the most popular post on this site! They might start begging us to STOP bringing chocolate if too many do so!

Bring a snack for the flight attendants. Sometimes I want to get fun with the gift but never know which route to go so I stick to a chocolate snack.

That was so nice of you and so nice of them! I’ve thought about the Starbucks cards, which are more practical than candy, but I never know how many to buy!

I bought about 8-10 Starbucks cards and a few big bags of the individual chocolates. The FA I handed it to (as I said Merry Christmas and thanks for flying with us on Christmas Eve!) asked where I was seated, as I told her it was for the crew. (Did not take pilots into consideration! Should I?) After we were in the air, the head FA came to my seat and gave me a HUGE BAG, apologizing that “it wasn’t much” and that they appreciated our gesture. Inside were two liter bottles of water, a large tray (at least 36 pkgs!!!) of the Biscoff 6 pk cookies, and 10-12 mini bottles of alcohol!! I was shocked, never even thinking I’d get anything in return. It was nice to get the extra attention, but mostly I did it because – Christmas Eve!!
