Yes, much as I love the major sites, if they’re too crowded it’s hard to get into that imaginative zone that lets me reconstruct the place in my head.

I also like the fact that they’re not overrun with tourists and that you can take your time absorbing the view and imagining the people who lived there long ago. This is the kind of place that really makes history and the stories of the Bible come alive. Anita
