My background is in wine and I still didn’t know a lot about the local wine so don’t feel too bad! I have to assume most of what you sampled outside the conference was from the Emporda DO. I spent a good chunk of the opening party perusing the wine booths to find out more myself. The region has some fantastic offerings — I want to come back and explore more. Just wasn’t enough time.

Much like you, not a fan of the whole crazy party scene, but once you got away from the discos, I really liked Lloret. The other Lloret beach is where I’d probably come back to — it was more low key and laid back.

We found some great tapas as well — granted, we were at the craft beer place to start when we first arrived since we cover a lot about beer as well.
