If you walked along the Embarcadero but didn’t stop anywhere, I’d say it’s about a 45-minute walk. But set aside at least a half a day if you’re going to do things like shop for food at the Ferry Building, check out the attractions and the sea lions at Pier 39, visit the ships at the Maritime Museum, etc. If you have kids, the Exploratorium could take a half a day all by itself.
