Old fashioned letters? Not emails? That must be really special for them! Thanks for the tip! I guess it didn&#039;t occur to me since my parents had both passed away by the time we moved here. But we keep in touch with my sister and her family mostly through skype and facebook. And I&#039;ve shipped my kids over there to visit during the summer vacation as well. My daughter stayed there and went to day camp one summer when she was about 7, and then when she was about 16 she spent a year at the local high school. And my son went to sleepover camp with his cousin there one summer when he was about 11. Thanks for commenting!]]></description>

I guess the only thing I would add is find good ways to stay connected to your folks at home -- we have a few rituals that involve &#039;Skype babysitting&#039; where grandparents &#039;entertain&#039; the kids while the grownups make dinner, and once a month letters that we send home that the kids &#039;write&#039; and they get once a month letters back from friends and family. Good ways to keep everyone feeling close even when we are far!]]></description>
